Art enthusiast Susan Matta of Austin was thrilled when she got a job with the Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art. Susan Matta of Austin earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Art & Design from the University of Idaho in 2010, and was looking for the perfect opportunity to utilize her knowledge and passion. She knew that her hometown didn’t offer much opportunity in what she wanted to do, so Susan Matta of Austin decided to pick up and move to Austin, Texas. It was there that Susan Matta of Austin quickly found herself at home at the Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art.
The University of Texas is home to the Jack S. Blanton
Museum of Art and contains both an art museum and a research center. Susan Matta of
Austin has always been impressed by the sheer size of the museum. The
museum is one of the largest university museums and is home to more than 17,000
works of art. Even though Susan Matta of Austin works for the museum, she has
not even begun to view the entirety of the collection. With works from Europe
and Latin America, Susan Matta of Austin is excited about the diverse culture
that the museum offers. The museum was established in 1963 with everything being
displayed in the Art Building until 1972, when it was moved to the Harry Ransom
Center. The name was later changed to the Artcher M. Huntington Art Gallery in
1980. Susan Matta of Austin was
interested to learn that the museum was named the Blanton Museum of Art until a
$12 million donation was made, and the name was therefore changed.
