Susan Matta of Austin is a lifelong art enthusiast. Susan
Matta of Austin earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Design from the
University of Idaho in 2010. She immediately relocated to Austin, Texas, where
she took a job with the Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art, one of the country’s
largest university art museums.
Susan Matta of Austin hails from the city of Sandpoint in
northern Idaho. The city’s economy is supported in part by tourism, and many
residents enjoy a robust outdoor lifestyle. As much as Susan Matta of Austin
loves Sandpoint, however, she knew that only a bigger city could provide her
with the options and opportunities she needed to truly fulfill her dreams.
Susan Matta of Austin loves
the rich cultural diversity of her adopted hometown. Austin bills itself as
“The Live Music Capital of the World,” and is home to the legendary Austin City
Limits program and the South by SouthWest music festival. It also offers a
strong film and theatre culture, and is the Texas State Capital.
The Blanton Museum, where Susan Matta of Austin works, houses
approximately 18,000 works of art from around the world. Even though she works
at the museum, Susan Matta of Austin has only scratched the surface of its
holdings. The Blanton Museum holds art work from the United States, Europe and
Latin America. Susan Matta of Austin is excited by everything that the museum
has to offer.
