Susan Matta of Austin: Deep In the Heart of Texas

Susan Matta of Austin has, in just a few short years, gone from being a university student dreaming of all that was still to come, to realizing some of her most dearly held lifelong dreams.

Susan Matta of Austin grew up in the small town of Sandpoint, Idaho. Very early in life she knew that she loved art, and that she somehow wanted to make it her career. Toward that goal, Susan Matta of Austin enrolled in the University of Idaho, where she majored in art. After completing her undergraduate studies, she received her degree in Art and Design in May of 2010.

Almost immediately, Susan Matta of Austin found a job at one of the best university art museums in the United States. She was hired to work at the Jack S. Blanton Art Museum, a museum and research center at the University of Texas, Austin. Susan Matta of Austin relocated to deep in the heart of Texas and immersed herself in the Blanton’s magnificent collection of art: works ranging from paintings by European masters to modern and contemporary pieces by American and Latin American artists.

As appealing to her as the Blanton Museum is, Susan Matta of Austin has found that her adopted hometown has a lot more to offer than that. Austin is the capital of Texas, and also has one of the most energetic live music scenes in the United States.

Susan Matta of Austin will never forget her life in Sandpoint, Idaho. But for now, she is thrilled to be living and working in a city with a dynamic art scene.
