Susan Matta of Austin: Living Her Dream

Susan Matta of Austin is living the life that, not so long ago, she could only dream of. A native of Sandpoint, Idaho, she has loved art since an early age. Once she decided to pursue it as a career, Susan Matta of Austin enrolled in the University of Idaho, she completed her studies in 2010, graduating with a degree in Art and Design.

Her career path rapidly led her to Austin, Texas, where Susan Matta of Austin found a job at the Jack S. Blanton Museum. Located on the University of Texas at Austin campus in Central Texas, the Blanton is one of the premier university museums and research centers in the United States.

Susan Matta of Austin is thrilled with her new job and her new hometown. The city of Austin is rich in cultural offerings. In addition to the Blanton, the city boasts a vibrant music scene, and also offers strong traditions in film and theatre. Austin is also the capital of Texas – a mostly liberal city in a predominantly conservative state.

As for the Blanton Museum where she works, Susan Matta of Austin could not, at this stage of her career, ask for anything more. At last count, the Blanton is home to more than 18,000 works of art. These range from paintings by European masters, to contemporary and modern works by American and Latin American artists. In addition to this, the museum holds a comprehensive collection of prints and drawings.
